Holiday shopping is seldom easy. Whether you’re just hopping around department stores or just surfing the net, the limitless choices made available by advertisers can actually be more of a detriment for someone who is in a real hurry. This can be quite problematic if you’re on a budget and have such a long shopping list. Time constraints do not really provide you the benefit of thoroughly comparing every item in each store in an effort to find yourself the best bargain. One who has been shopping for hours can quite easily succumb to the pressure and end up buying gifts beyond a planned budget.

If you’re caught in this very familiar predicament, all is not lost. When shopping for holiday gifts it sometimes makes more sense to look for items that are simple yet meaningful. While a sophisticated electronic gadget could surely get a friend excited, simple inexpensive gifts like personalized mugs or engraved pens may just elicit the same amount of appreciation.

Nothing is perhaps more appropriate than a gift that actually captures the holiday spirit. As holidays bring sentimental moments, you’d want to give something you would be remembered for. Embroidered pillows and blankets would be good choices. Collectibles like cd’s and personalized caps should also do the trick. Listed below are some gift items worth considering:

• shirt of a home team

• cross stitching kit

• bottle of a local wine

• personalized notepad

• stationary

• photo album

• memo holders

• tool kits

• carpentry kits

• versatile pocket knife

While you’ll surely be showered with praises by giving a fancy cellphone or notebook, it sometimes makes more sense to go for something more practical yet thoughtful. You don’t really have to dent your budget to please a friend. People tend to get appreciated more for the amount of effort they’ve exerted in looking for that meaningful gift that touches the heart. Whether it’s Christmas, Thanksgiving, or a major school reunion, there’s really no reason to panic. All it takes is just a little imagination and a touch of creativity.

Although a lot of promo campaigns are aimed at enticing new customers as well as building new business relationships, most companies know that almost 75% of the profits of a business come from repeat customers. Thus it is very important to reward customer loyalty, because of the impact it has on the business. That is why a lot of marketing executives are focusing on this aspect. Marketing departments often use many methods to increase the customer retention on their brand, and one of them is giving business gifts to the customers.

Giving thank you gifts as well as acknowledgements are some of the more prevalent ways used by companies. Often these firms give away lots of sticky notes whereon they print their contact details. This way firms will be assured that their products and services will be effectively promoted. Of course, the firm will also be able to say thank you and show their appreciation to their loyal customers who have been supporting them for so long. Giving freebies is one of the more traditional ways for firms to entice their customers to purchase or support their products again.

Still another way for companies to encourage loyalty among their customers is through loyalty programs. This is a very simple way for firms to entice their customers to remain with them, like giving away freebies or discounts when a customer, say, bought 20 boxes of pens. Companies also put up brochures or discount cards for customers so that they will keep coming back for more purchases. Companies may avail themselves of assistance from small suppliers that specialise in designing efficient loyalty programs.

Businesses too may opt to cultivate more personal relationship with their customers. This is a more intimate yet effective way for companies to win the trust and confidence of their clients. One way is to send them birthday cards. The cards do not have to be expensive. Even giving away simple gifts like pens or mugs will go a long way. Customers will not be after the gift, they are more likely to appreciate the concern and effort of companies to remember them on their special day.

Companies also spend time and effort to send “we miss you” gifts to their customers who have supported them above other firms. In an effort to win back these clients, companies show their appreciation and concern for these individuals by giving them some sort of promotional token.

It’s always hard to try and find that perfect gift for someone special. In the 21st century people do not have the time to go out shopping and scour the shops to find that special gift. It is also difficult to find something special for someone who has everything, how do you find something that no one else would have thought of or that they haven’t already got?

Occasions where you may need to find that special gift include birthdays, Christmas, weddings, anniversaries, mothers day, fathers day and valentines day. People are also even looking for alternatives to Easter eggs, wanting to buy children a gift rather then getting too many Easter eggs.

Internet shopping is becoming the worlds favourite way to shop. By doing this it saves you time and energy and takes the stress out of shopping and making it an enjoyable experience. High street shops and internet companies are making it easier and easier for the consumer to purchase items online and sometimes offer incentives like discounts or free delivery. Some companies even do exclusive online sales that you would not normally see in the shops on the high street.

They can even offer you a better discount on items that they are selling as by having an online shop it is cutting their costs of having the overheads of running a high street shop and paying staff to serve you.

Things to bear in mind when trying to find the perfect gift for that special someone are try and think about their hobbies. Are they in to any particular sport or like reading particular books or listening to certain types of music? Do they have any hobbies that you may be able to find a gift that they would be able to use in their hobby, like if they were in to football, maybe you could buy them a football shirt or sports bag? Or if you know what football team they support then you may be able to get them a clock, scarf or badge or something else that a football souvenir web shop may be able to offer you.

Other ideas would be to think about their interests i.e. some people are in to gardening, maybe think about what tools they might need or a special tree or plant that they could grow and remember who bought it for them. Some people may have certain jobs that you may be able to find a different type of gift for like if they work in an office, then a novelty desk game might be fun!!
