Whats the process of availing education discount for Macbook pro in Malaysia?

I am buying a MacBook pro next week from Malaysia and I want to know the process for receiving the education discount. What are the documents if any that I need to present to the apple store ? I have a friend (student) in Malaysia who is willing to help me but do I need to take her along with me to the Apple store ? Can I get the education discount by saying that I am buying it as a gift for her and giving her details to the Apple store ?
